The inspiration behind Lvdu Yanmingxu is deeply rooted in the designer's belief in creating structures that belong to their environment. The space is designed to be open and filled with light, surrounded by layers of greenery. Nature, light, sound, and air are the complementary elements that create a calm, relaxing, and inspiring atmosphere.
What sets this design apart is its exploration of the relevance of modernism in the current era and its geographical and cultural contexts. The beauty of the architecture is highlighted through the changes in light and shadow, and its value becomes more prominent with the passage of time. This design is a testament to the enduring appeal of architecture that is in harmony with its surroundings.
The realization of this design is a tribute to the traditional Chinese wooden structure - the mortise and tenon structure. This structure is reinterpreted in the space, and the sacredness of the case shows the specific spiritual temperament of the case. The design is a blend of aesthetics, art, and intuition, creating a harmonious balance between the stone steps and the urban texture of the ancient forests.
The project was initiated in March 2018 and completed in March 2019. The design process involved a deep exploration of the relevance of decorationism in contemporary times, regions, and cultural context. The challenge was to create a space that was wide open and full of light, surrounded by layers of greenery, and that created a calm, relaxing, and inspiring atmosphere.
The Lvdu Yanmingxu project was awarded the Silver A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award in 2020. This prestigious award is given to designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation, strong technical characteristics, and splendid artistic skill. The award recognizes the level of excellence of the design and its ability to evoke positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
